This web-based center is designed to provide member
Local and Regional "Buy Fresh, Buy Local" and "Buy Local Affiliate" Campaign
Coordinators with the information, tools, resources, and networking
opportunities needed to implement more effective local food campaigns.
With BFBL campaigns underway in over fifteen states throughout the country
and affiliated campaigns in several more, our collective aim is to leverage
shared experience and to collaborate in strategic ways to rebuild local food
economies - community by community. In so doing, we aim to strengthen the
economic viability of the farmers and communities we serve, support public
health, and protect the environment.
Buy Local Campaign Organizing Manual: All member
organizations should have received this manual in print form. It is also
posted here in downloadable PDF chapters for easy reference. All "Tools"
referenced throughout are posted here as well. The manual draws on experience
emerging from FoodRoutes' national Buy Fresh, Buy Local campaign and two-year
Buy Local Initiative and include case studies, practical tools, and lessons
learned about what's working and what isn't in diverse agricultural, social
and economic contexts throughout the country. These resources are intended
to help you develop, coordinate, and expand your local food campaign.
New Resources: Additional campaign case-studies,
tools and resources will be posted by FoodRoutes on a regular basis, and can
also be easily uploaded by partners (just click on
"add a resource" button below and
follow the instructions). All partners are encouraged to share new
resources as they are developed!
